I recently had the fortune of recording a podcast about my beloved home state with one of the most renowned and longest-standing travel podcasts, Amateur Traveler. I had picked an itinerary out of many, but didn’t expect I would talk so long. Who knew there were so many little things to see in Kansas? I guess I did but hadn’t put it in perspective.
My road trip suggestion focuses on western Kansas, with my personal favorite Monument Rocks as the highlight. I also throw in several other asides based on the topic or where the conversation led. Of course I left out plenty, including my own hometown and other notable sights. I’m quite sure I neglected a few major things even in the places I did talk about.

The podcast clocks in at over an hour, so you might want to listen on 1.5 speed. That’s a trick that I have learned because I’m a podcast addict these days and want to listen to more in a shorter period of time.
Without further ado, here we go…
